Barry’s Business and Corporate Law practice consists primarily of serving as outside general counsel to companies of varying sizes and handling the diverse legal needs that arise throughout the lifetime of a business. The scope of his representation encompasses (1) business formation; (2) business succession planning; (3) business mergers, acquisitions and sales; (4) review, negotiation and preparation of legal agreements between business owners or between the company and outside third parties; and (5) internal governance matters.
Barry’s Estate Planning and Probate practice includes providing guidance to individuals in connection with the management of the family assets, preservation of wealth, protection from creditors, and minimization of taxes. This often involves the preparation of key legal documents such as Wills, Revocable Living Trusts, Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, Financial Powers of Attorney, and Georgia Advance Directives for Health Care. Barry also advises clients who desire to engage in more advanced estate planning, which might lend itself to the creation of a trust, family limited partnership, or a trust for an individual with special needs.
Barry served as an American Bar Association Vice-Chairman, Post Mortem Income Tax Planning Committee, Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, from 2001 to 2006.
